Business systems are not Glitzy, but certainly are profitable
Say the word systems for most owners or professionals, and it is usually met with a similar reaction, or ugh. But if you want to permanently deliver on your promises and put more profit on the bottom line with less effort, you must learn to love schemes! Perhaps the first step is to think of systems as a process or a "step by step approach", as you do things. Many small businesses have anything that documents how do they do what they do. As a result, there is little agreementfrom one activity to another - unless, of course, the owner has it all. To make matters worse, it makes the transfer, hiring and training new people difficult and far less effective.
When we talk about systems, most people recognize that McDonald's is probably the best in this area. McDonalds is so successful, not because (they make the best products at almost!), But because they continually build systems to their companies to lead - without the owner being there. From how they make aHamburger, what they say, if customers have come at the counter, it is a documented system, so it is easy for everyone to do the tasks - and do it consistently every time. Have you ever visited a McDonald's and not asking if you want fries with your burger or if you upsize your order?
So, why so many small businesses ignore this area? Many assume that only large companies or franchises require. They say things like: "We're small, we talk to each other, and weall know what needs to be done. "And perhaps this is the case when you first start and it's just you or perhaps your spouse. But what happens if you suddenly grow and serve more customers and bringing in new employees, what happens when people take leave and the knowledge with them? What happens when the work you want to outsource is currently happening and what if you want as an owner who go for two weeks with your family?
