McDonalds Menu Analysis - What Are the Healthiest Beef Burgers?

Introduction

I have previously analysed McDonalds' range of sandwiches, and found that the larger beef burgers tend to have higher levels of fat, cholesterol and salt. However, we all need a treat now and then, and many people (such as myself) find McDonald's beef burgers more enjoyable to eat than its chicken burgers.

This article shall analyse the beef burger from McDonalds' menu, and identify those with the highest and lowest amounts of saturated fats, cholesterol and sodium (salt). This will allow readers to make more nutritionally informed decisions when they make their next visit to McDonalds.

Data

The data was obtained from the official McDonalds.com website. Please note that the statistics are for McDonalds restaurants based in the USA. Regional values may vary, and I have not included any local specialities.

Analysis

The Quarter Pounder is the top healthiest in terms of saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. However, it is not commonly available outside of the United States. After that, the Big N' Tasty is the healthiest burger. This is McDonald's rival to Burger King's Whopper burger. But unfortunately it has been discontinued in the United Kingdom, where I reside. However, the M Burger appears to be similar.

Browsing down the list, the unhealthiest burgers include the Angus Bacon & Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese. It appears that adding bacon and/or cheese increases the level of undesirable contents in a burger. Size also matters, as the Angus and Double Quarter Pounder burgers are larger than average.

Conclusion

This study appears to show that eating less is healthier, as it leads to a lower consumption of unhealthy ingredients. Adding bacon and cheese is also particularly unhealthy, though this study may be skewed in this regard, as cheese can be part of a healthy diet.

Health conscious readers who enjoy eating beef burgers from McDonalds' menu would be advised to choose the smaller burgers that do not contain bacon or cheese.

McDonalds Menu Analysis - What are the healthiest bread?

Introduction

While I admit it, many people love McDonald's. They love their health when they know that excessive consumption of McDonalds is not good for them, they eat it anyway. This article explores the nutritional information on the website provided by McDonald's and that is by beef-chicken sandwich range tend to be McDonald's than those with healthier.

Data source

This is a pdfFile menu with nutritional information on McDonald's on the website of McDonalds. I assumed that the nutritional values are the same for every country, although some friends have told me that American portions are larger portions Great Britain.

I used Excel to PDF to convert the menu in PDF to Excel, and then used the basic functions of a clearing house for help to identify the best and worst sandwiches.

Results

The first thing I noticed when I started to order the 'The data were two problems:

What defines good health?
The size of the sandwich are very different.

In terms of "healthy", some people are cutting back on calories, while others may be cutting down on fats. For example, a very physical movement needs a lot of calories, but I want someone who is trying to lose weight is to cut.

However, people generally try to reduce saturated fat, cholesterol and salt. So in my quest for the healthiest in terms that Ilooking for those with the lowest saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium levels.

As for saturated fats seem to be the chicken burger, the healthier the Premium Grilled Chicken Classic Sandwich at the top. The biggest beef sandwiches contain saturated fat, although this might be due primarily to the inclusion of cheese. Note that Hamburg is in the Top 5 because of its small size.

The tag with the lowest cholesterol through the burger. But once againThis is due to its size. The following are packages of snacks, which are themselves small. If it were not for the snack wrap, the chicken products would be high. Once again, the worst competitors in beef products, the Double Quarter Pounder with cheese is the worst.

In terms of sodium, I find it surprising that the Quarter Pounder and Big N Tasty out the top 5, as well as beef, in terms of unhealthy saturated fat and cholesterol. The highest sodium chicken sandwiches are sandwiches, butA closer examination shows that all contain fat, which is a salt.

Analysis

Size seems to be an important factor in my conclusions. If you do not eat less, you need to eat less overall. But eating a sandwich only left a little hungry individual, and can cause a snack. This will seek to set aside the goal of being healthy.

Diners with their consumption of saturated fat or cholesterol affected avoiding beef hamburgerwith cheese, and select one of the chicken sandwich.

Who wants to reduce its consumption of salt, go for the terms without bacon.

Conclusion

After analysis of the McDonald's menu, I conclude that the healthiest sandwiches be because the smaller. This will not satisfy many people's appetite.

Who should be more likely to be a big appetite with chicken sandwiches, but without bacon. You should avoid the biggest hamburger containingCheese.
