Free Spyware Removal - Why Everything You've Been Told About Free Antispyware Software Is A Lie

Being a computer professional, I get asked all the time about free spyware removal and what free antispyware software that I would recommend and my answer is always the same - none.

That's because everything you've been told about free spyware removers - that they work just as good as paid software, that they offer sufficient real time protection, that you can use two or three free tools and remove all spyware from your computer just the same as if you used one paid tool - is a lie.

But it's what you haven't been told that is the most important distinction between free antispyware programs and paid programs, and that is the huge difference in detection methods.

Almost all free software uses outdated and ineffective scanning methods. They simply look over your folders and files and look for abnormalities, unknown files, or files that might have changed recently and then in future scans they rely on historical observation of those same files and folders to determine if a spyware infection is present.

The problem with this type of scanning methodology is that the program simply doesn't really know whether or not the files it has pegged are, in fact, spyware. While they do get it right a majority of the time, you will also frequently see false positives - meaning that a file that it thinks is spyware is actually a legitimate file. This is primarily because by partly relying on simply seeing file changes, the software sometimes views updates and service pack files that are applied to your operating system or applications as spyware only because the file has changed, disregarding the fact that the file should have in fact changed.

The other major problem that free spyware removers face is simply a lack of effectiveness. Spyware has become increasingly dynamic in nature and therefore can embed or hide itself within files and folders very easily, avoiding the simplistic scanning of free tools.

A far better option when looking for top antispyware programs is to look for tools that scan your computer against a spyware database which is kept up to date by a team of technical programmers. This is why it is worth it to pay $30 for spyware removal software because that money is used to pay those programmers to keep their spyware database maintained and up to date. This is important because you are ensured that you are protected against even the most recent spyware threats that have only become active within days or sometimes hours.

Additionally, scanning against a database is a much more effective method of scanning because each file on your computer is compared against spyware definitions, or actual inactive spyware files, to determine an infection rather than relying on simple observation.

So the next time someone tells you that free spyware removal tools such as Search and Destroy or Windows Defender are adequate to clean your computer, you can tell them that you've been told the truth about free antispyware software and that they're much better off investing a mere $30 to keep their computer clean.

Hospitality Marketing: A Remedy to Problems of Hospitality Industry

This article will provide a brief overview about the concept of hospitality industry, the problems faced by this industry and importance of hospitality marketing to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.

Hospitality industry has a long evolutionary history. In older times, analysts suggest that the concept of this industry was initially known with a synonym, hotel industry. However in modern era the terminology of 'Hospitality Industry' is more common that comprises those businesses that provide services such as accommodation, food, and beverages to travelers seeking pleasure as well as those who travel due to business reasons (Gray & Liguori, 1996). Moreover it is argued that to some extend components of leisure industry such as cruise ships restaurants and to some lesser degree airlines are also considered part of hospitality industry as well (Papers4you.com, 2006).

Though the industry is assumed to be in nevr lasting demand but there are certain problems that this industry regularly faces. These problems may include uncertainty to the costs of even most economic source of energy, increased trend of problems in maintaining profitable food and beverage facilities, comparatively more increase in labor costs as compared to productivity, customer dissatisfaction due to increase in size and number of rooms as it is claimed to increase registration and other services process time and more importantly very high competition that induces heavy rate cuts to survive (Gray & Liguori, 1996).

Keeping these factors in view, in particular customer's dissatisfaction and profit reduction, Lewis & Chambers (1989) asserts that hospitality industry historically did not realize importance of marketing and a remedy to industry's problem is encapsulated in 'hospitality marketing', both in its foundation and practices. It was further asserted that in 1950s and 1960s, industry focused on technology and updating their telephone reservation systems. Similarly in 1970s and later, businesses were focused to increase assets and forgot the essence of industry, that is, 'customer oriented service'.

It was suggested that players in hospitality industry should realize that hospitality product is different, that is in fact, something intangible that they are selling and as both product and reasons for buying it are different also different so it demands a different marketing strategy, something like hospitality marketing that requires customer centered hospitality need identification, specific segmentation & positioning and 'the hospitality marketing mix'.

Such trend can be observed around the world (Papers4you.com, 2006). Food chains like McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc are now focusing on customer's service and taste rather than focusing on their own brand name only. McDonalds in India, for instance, operates differently while focusing on the 'vegetarian aspect' of their tradition than McDonalds in USA where focus is more towards an easy accessible food facility.

Hence the discussion may conclude that hospitality industry provided ever needed services. Nonetheless it may face certain specific issues that can be counterattacked through industry specific 'hospitality marketing'

Four Unique Treats to Give Out on Halloween

If you'd like some variety, something a little different, for your Halloween treating this year, consider these ideas:

1. McDonald's coupons. What child doesn't like McDonald's...enough said.

2. One older couple in our neighborhood gave out an unusual treat. They decorated their livingroom spookily and took a polaroid snapshot of each child posed in front of the decorations. The picture was the treat. Would you be surprised to learn the kids lined up down the sidewalk? It became so popular we neighbor parents contributed monetarily to their film packs. Note: this couple took great care to ensure children's safety and also to protect their own reputations. Their livingroom was located immediately off a large foyer. They kept their front door wide open. Their triple front window curtains were left open with bright lighting so nothing could be construed as improper. Finally, since a polaroid camera was used, no pictures were retained.

3. Treats from Oriental Trading Company. Instead of sugar decay, how about inexpensive toys instead? Yo-yo's, little dolls, funny eraser heads, the catalog and online store has lots of variety to select.

4. Perhaps in conjunction with an Oriental Trading Company purchase, set up a "duckie pond" similar to a county fair booth. Decide on groups of inexpensive prizes and number them - group 1, group 2, and so on. Get several little plastic duckies. With a permanent marker, write numbers on the bottom of the duckies to correspond with your prize groups. Have several numbers of the most inexpensive group, and only 1 or 2 special prizes of more value. Fill some type of large container with water and set the duckies afloat. If you're handy with dry ice, this would be a perfect touch for a Halloween duckie pond.

It can be just as fun to stay home and treat the little ones arriving at your door. By the way, will you greet them with treats...in a costume yourself?

Ways to Get Slim and Stay That Way

There is, for healthy people, one way to get slim and stay that way. You have to make sure your energy output is greater than your energy intake. In other words, you have to exert more calories (food energy) than calories you take in (food intake). And you have to develop a lifestyle that keeps these energy ledgers in balance.

And of course, the most well known way to decrease you intake is by denying yourself food of various types, This usually means eating raw vegetables, fat-free milk, rice cakes, and other things no self-respecting human would choose to eat on their own. Then do this until you get to the weigh you want.

The other option is to exercise until you drop, day after day, exerting huge amounts of energy and only replacing it with moderate amounts of energy from moderate amounts of foods you really love.

However, there are problems with either of these approaches.

Most people derive a great deal of pleasure from eating and no one is really interested in sitting down to a hearty meal of lettuce, raw carrots, and cucumbers - with a fat free dressing. We want something that tastes good, has texture and is, well, enjoyable.

And if you need slimming down, it's probably because you have not been that active to begin with. The idea of intense physical exertion, day after day, with no perceptible short term results is, at its very best, discouraging, making the effort to exercise, to inflict pain on yourself, even more difficult to commit to.

One of the facts of life you have to accept is that most changes don't happen overnight. They take time and by implication, persistence. Slimming down is no different.

The first necessity in successfully slimming down is to drop the expectation of massive and sudden weight loss. Understand that any meaningful loss will be over a period of months, not days or weeks.

Once your mind is in the right place, you then have to approach both eating and exercise with a realistic set of goals. Just as you shouldn't try to go from professional couch potato to triathlon, neither should you go from sumptuous dining to eating less than a mouse. For starters, neither of those options is very good for your body. Secondly, you will simply frustrate yourself when you ail to maintain the unreasonable standards you set for yourself.

As with most things in life, moderation will prove to be the key. A regular, but not strenuous exercise program (you could start with walking around the block every morning) and foods with a low glycemic index, over a period of months will do more to help you shed weight than a stop and go pattern of extreme dieting and exercise. And it will be a lot less frustrating.
