Lake McDonald Lodge

The Lake McDonald Lodge Montana stationed on the eastern shores of Lake McDonald Park in the heart of beautiful Glacier National.

Once known as the Lewis Glacier Hotel, Lake McDonald Lodge is an excellent example of a chalet-style mountain huts-Swiss pioneers tried to create the park. Now, almost a hundred years later. This historic Lodge is probably one of the best examples of a Swiss chalet-style hotel on the leftAmerica.

Opened in 1914, three-and-a-half-story historic National Park this property offers a magnificent view of Lake McDonald, the largest lake in Glacier National Park. The view from the veranda overlooking the lake is breathtaking. I can not find a picturesque mountain scenery in North America.

Built mainly of stone logs, and covered with heavy wooden structures with more than gable roofs. The exterior consists of stucco on the lower level and painted wood-shingleSiding on the upper floors.

Although similar in style of Lake McDonald Lodge is in itself almost the size of mammoths in its two sister parks of Glacier Park Lodge and the Many Glacier Hotel.
This provides a warm feeling inside that you can relax after a day of enjoying many of the areas attractions.

The rustic lobby is memorable for its soil, the work of stone inscribed with Native Blackfoot, Chippewa are similar, and the Indians Cree phrases whentranslated slogans saying meaningful such as reception, big party, and Mountain View, among others.

rustic balconies overlooking the main entrance and many big game trophies, and Native American decor. The area is large cedar posts that support all three stories are at the limit even bigger logs, accentuating a roof structure in sight.

The dining room with rustic game lodge look and feel with exposed beams, and trunks. Impressive artifacts and trophies decorate the room and large windows, guests will enjoy the scenic alpine setting at dinner.

The service is good and the local specialties are wonderful. Montana micro-factory and a selection of wines.

The cozy living room has a fully stocked bar, snacks, and the only television in the main lodge, large windows allow a beautiful view of Lake McDonald untouched, while you relax.

Lake> McDonald Lodge serves as a hub for several nearby facilities.

This is a two-story Lake McDonald Motor Inn, and a series of large and small duplexes houses close to the main lodge along with a grill, pizzeria, shop, gift shop and a hand that has a wide selection handmade jewelry, ceramics and works of art by both Native Americans and Montana local artisans.

This National Park Lodge is a wonderful place to begin the scenic route orhistoric Red Bus Tour of "The Going-to-the-Sun Road" (a unit of the most beautiful mountain in North America) There are a variety of other unique hiking and lake cruises, which for this purpose.

The Lake McDonald Lodge offers guests a total of 100 rooms: the main Lodge, Lake McDonald Motor Inn, and the series of duplexes cottage.

Lodge room: around the main lobby on the second floor and third,Views vary from the lake to the mountains.

cottage rooms are large and small are found in a number of duplexes and more complex units in the vicinity of the main house.

McDonald Lake Motor Inn. Rooms: Lodge is located at the two-story Lake McDonald Motor Inn a few hundred meters from the main road.

A limited number of ADA handicap accessible rooms are available.

All rooms are rustic, but comfortable, with double or twin beds with private bathroom andTel. The fans, alarm clock and some other terms are available upon request.

have no room: TV, Internet access, or air conditioning. It is not known at this high point in the northern Rocky Mountains in one of the countries most beautiful locations.

Lake McDonald Lodge is open seasonally from late May to late September.
